About IPL:

IFESCU Premier League (IPL) is the premier sports league of IAA and IFESCU, where both current students and alumni participate together. It started in 2008 when students of that time started were divided into 4 teams named Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and took part in a cricket tournament which is named IFESCU Premier Cricket. Later on in 2017, the day before re-union the 2nd session of the tournament was organized and named as IFESCU Premier league (IPL). Following that 3rd, 4th and 5th IPL have been organized in 2018, 2019, and 2020. Normally, the IPL event happens on the day before the re-union or any such events.

General rules and regulations

Commission: A 04 (member) commission that serves as the highest decision making body of the tournament. Commission’s key responsibilities include forming a team, operating team bidding events, making schedule of the program, controlling the budget (income and expenditure), assisting host batch to organize field and sports management.

Host batch: In every IPL, one batch serves as a host. Host’s key roles include field management, and sports management. The idea of host batch was first coined at IPL-4 in 2019, and the 35th batch served as host. Then in 2020, ………….. Batch serves as the host.

Officials: Officials are the match referee and scorers. In practice, match referees are selected by the commission and scorer roles are played by the female students.

Teams: A total number of 04 teams take part in each IPL. The newest 08 batches are divided into 04 (four). Then, these 04 teams were bought by another alumni batch.

Team formation: Each team is formed with a combination of current students and alumni. There must be at least 04 alumni or 04 current students in the playing eleven.
