IAA donates indoor and outdoor sports kits to the students of Master Da Surjasen
IAA has initiated a Plantation program in memory of 3 million martyrs of the Ind
IAA tried to stand by the people who were suffering in Corona.
The IAA was borne out of a combined desire to contribute towards the overall welfare of the students of the IFESCU as well as to contribute towards providing better working conditions for our revered members of faculty. The ultimate goal is to equip our students for a career of their choice where they could better contribute as a citizen of Bangladesh. The creation of a “career development center” remains our goal provided we could collect enough resources as well as establishing academic collaborations with other universities and institutions so that we could bring the best practices from across the world to the doorstep of the IFESCU.
As it works in Bangladesh, there is hardly anything could be initiated in a legally compliant and procedurally compatible manner till we have an approved constitution. To make it more demanding, the same constitution needs to be duly registered with the government.
We remain grateful to our members who worked so hard to have our constitutions approved as well as have been working hard to get it duly registered with the government. We are hopeful of receiving formal registration from the government within a month or so.
Despite all these limitations, the IAA put its utmost effort to bring resources for the IFESCU. Here is a snapshot. Please be reminded that this could not be considered as an exhaustive list as many of our workings are in progress.
1. On 11 March 2017 1st meeting of IAA Executive Committee (EC) was held. The EC took several decisions and formed several sub-committees to formulate IAA Constitution; Member Criteria; IAA logo, pad and website development; etc.
2. IAA organized a fund collection initiative for the treatment of spouse of a member.
3. IAA approached the IFESCU authority and have been working to make the IFESCU free from any session jam in the near future.
4. IAA launched an appeal to form a scholarship fund for One Crore Taka as well as appeals for funding for other pressing improvements works of the IFESCU.
5. Draft scholarship program has been approved and very shortly will be launched with about two lacs that we have in our account now, in this regard.
6. IAA undertook a plantation program in remembrance of the 3 million martyrs of our Independence movement. We received a donation of about 7 lacs and are in the process of collecting more.
7. IAA President handed over the plantation leaflet to the Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh recently and apprised her about the workings of the IAA. Hon’ble Prime Minister expressed her satisfaction and encouraged us to do more.
8. IAA effectively lobbied with the government to include graduates of IFESCU for the banking sector. This one single accomplishment opened the door for a good many of our graduates to work in the banking sector.
9. IAA managed to get a Bus to facilitate students’ tour program from the CSR fund of South East Bank Ltd.
10. Now we are in the search for a second bus for IFESCU. Please provide your help whoever in a position of doing so.
11. Installing a water filter system for both the student halls, male and female, as well as for the campus through generous contribution of about Tk 15 lacs of non IFESCU businessperson. With the installation of the plant our students and teachers in IFESCU will get pure water which is considered “best of the best” in the range. (IAA is looking for an sponsor for about Tk 10,000.00 per month for upkeeping the plant.)
12. IAA observed World Forest Day on 21st March 2017.
13. Opened IAA Bank account on 1st May 2017.
14. Approved draft Memorandum of Association (MoA) on 2nd IAA-EC meeting held on 20 May 2017
15. Organized seminars at IFESCU on “Career Development of IFESCU Students”, “Higher Study in Abroad”, “Job/Scholarship Application Preparation” and a number of training sessions for the BCS preparation of IFESCU graduates conducted by senior graduates who qualified in BCS.
16. IAA President handed over a petition to the Hon’ble Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmood, MP for the support from the government to develop educational, research and residential facilities at IFESCU.
17. Organized a mini get together at Banbhavan, Dkaha to facilitate member collection
18. Organized First AGM and mini get together on 6 January 2018.
19. IAA routinely facilitates the visit of accomplished alums and exchanges with our students. Please keep us in the loop should it be convenient for you to visit IFESCU.
20. Approved IAA constitution on its 7th EC meeting on 9th February
21. IAA is in the process of designing a comprehensive website and happy to report that we are almost ready to launch it with the help of a group of dedicated members of IAA.
